The New York State Public High School Athletic Association has recognized seven Riverhead High School fall varsity teams as scholar-athlete teams.

To earn this distinction, each team member on the roster must hold a GPA above 90 percent during the fall season.

The Riverhead Central School District extends congratulations to the following athletic teams: girls field hockey, 103-percent average; girls cross-country, 102-percent average; girls tennis, 99-percent average; boys cross-country, 99-percent average; girls soccer, 95-percent average; boys golf, 95-percent average; and girls volleyball, 94-percent average.

Additionally, 113 student-athletes earned individual scholar-athlete awards for maintaining a GPA above 90 percent during their respective fall sports seasons.
