Riverhead Police are investigating the burglary of a delicatessen on Route 58 Sunday night.
Police said they received a report at 8:47 p.m. of a commercial burglary in process at Natea’s Deli, 1696 Old Country Road. Responding officers found the glass on the front door of the premises had been broken to gain entry.
The suspect removed a cash drawer containing an unknown amount of money, according to a police press release.
A Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit responded to attempt to locate the suspect, police said.
