Jay “Lonnie” Hulse III of Wading River died suddenly on March 5, 2019. He was 54 years old.

He was born March 1, 1965 to Jay and Tessie (Zubina) Hulse and grew up on the family farm on Hulse Landing Road in Wading River. He graduated from Bishop Mercy-McGann High School in 1983 where he played on the football team for four years. He then went on to own and operate his own trucking business.

Lonnie met his wife Lorraine at Riverhead Raceway in 1993. They married on March 1, 1994 and went on to celebrate 25 wonderful years of sharing his birthday with their anniversary. He was a loving father to Eric and Jacquelyn.

Lonnie was a loving father, husband and son, known for his friendly, easy-going demeanor, his quick wit, and his selflessness. He was the best husband, father, brother and son and he loved his entire family very dearly.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his mother, Tessie. He is survived by his wife Lorraine; children Eric and Jacquelyn, his best four-legged friend, Bandit; father, Jay; sisters Pam, Debbie, Pattie and their families.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, March 8, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Alexander-Rothwell Funeral Home, 6447 Route 25A, Wading River, New York 11792.

A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, March 9 at 12 noon. Interment will follow at Wading River Cemetery,
