In celebration of National Short Story Month, Riverhead Free Library will host events at the Writer’s Cove. The events will take place Wednesdays May 1, 15 and 29 from 7 to 8 p.m.

On May 1, attendees can begin writing short stories for a celebration at the end of the month, using writing prompts, library resources and tools, and networking.

To celebrate Loving Day in June, participants will be able to work May 15 on a personal essay, poem, or short story to share that focuses on past or present experience with racism, diversity, or multiculturalism in the community.

A short story celebration will take place May 29. Attendees can read their short stories, excerpts from their stories or a work by a favorite author. Refreshments will be provided.
