On Saturday, the festival begins with a 10 a.m. workshop led by Chazz Palminteri at Peconic Landing, followed by international short film competition screenings at 2:30 and 4 p.m. at Greenport Theatre.

The centerpiece of the event, an evening with Chazz Palminteri, will take place at Greenport Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Palminteri will perform a scene from “A Bronx Tale,” his iconic original one-man show, followed by the MFI awards ceremony. “The International Short Film Competition represents an important new dimension for us,” explains founder Tony Spiridakis. “MFI is a transformational experience. When students see their films play in the historic Greenport Theatre, in front of a packed audience – films they wrote, acted, directed, edited, and shot right here on the North Fork – they are empowered.”

Admission is free and open to the public for all events, except for the MFI Fundraiser After-Party which requests $25 donation per person.
