Hurley B. Clinton of Riverhead died Aug. 23, 2019, at Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead. He was 77.
He was born July 4, 1942, in Aurora, North Carolina, to Napoleon and Winfir Clinton and attended Riverhead High School.
He worked as assistant groundskeeper at Fox Hill Country Club.
Family members said he loved the New York Mets and golf and collected golf balls.
He is survived by his wife, Ann (Johns) of Riverhead; children, Alfreda Stewart of Texas and Franklin Johns of Florida; brothers Alonzo Clinton and Johnny Clinton, both of Riverhead and Maco Clinton of North Carolina; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors Saturday, Aug. 31, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Galilee Church of God in Christ in Riverhead, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Interment will follow at Riverhead Cemetery.
Arrangements will be entrusted to McLauglin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.
