A three-car crash on Route 58 this morning injured three people.

The accident took place at the light at the entrances to the Riverhead Centre and Lowe’s shopping centers.

A preliminary investigation indicated that a vehicle exiting Riverhead Centre with a green light was struck by a vehicle that ran a red light on Route 58, police said.

Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Flanders Northampton Volunteer Ambulance and Northwell Health transported the injured to Peconic Bay Medical Center. None of the injuries were life-threatening, police said.

The road was closed down between Pulaski Street and Osborn Avenue for about 25 minutes, as emergency crews worked at the scene.
