The New York Marine Rescue Center is organizing two beach cleanups on the Long Island Sound as part of the group’s monthly “pick-it-up cleanups.”

Volunteers should meet at Reeves Beach at 10 a.m. on Nov. 24 and Dec. 22. The cleanup will run from 10 a.m. to noon both days.

Beach cleanups are also taking place on Dec. 8 at Smith Point Beach in Shirley, Cedar Beach in Mount Sinai and Tiana Beach in Hampton Bays.

All are welcome, sign up online.

Scout groups and businesses looking to organize a hands-on way to give back as a team should email the rescue center at [email protected] to find out how to schedule your own beach cleanup.
