Audrey Hanley of Southold and Garden City died on Sept. 10, 2021. She was 95 years old.

She was born was born in Boston, Massachusetts on July 14, 1926 to Margaret and Simeon Levins. After graduating high school, she worked as a secretary for several Boston-based firms, including Sperry Gyroscope. She then worked as a caregiver for local families.

Her hobbies included spending time with family and friends, love of children and dogs. Her family said “she had the innate ability to provide comfort and support to everyone who needed it, whenever they needed it.”

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years Bill and brother Paul Levins of Charolette, North Carolina. She is survived by her sister, Nancy (Billy) Reid of Scituate, Massachusetts and daughters A.J. (Jim) of Southold and Moira (John) Miller of Roanoke, Virginia and her four grandchildren: Jack, Sadie, Delia and Clay.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Sept. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 12 p.m., officiated by Monsignor Dan Picciano. A celebration of life will be held in Massachusetts in the near future.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations to Catholic Relief Services or No Kid Hungry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
