Celebrate the Halloween season with a fun family-friendly weekend on Saturday, Oct. 23 in Downtown Riverhead — rain date of Sunday, Oct. 24.

The streets of downtown will be lined with spooky and ghoulish decorations to set the tone for the events and festivities to be held throughout the day. Everyone is encouraged to dress up and explore the different shops, food and activities available. The event will feature jack-o-lantern displays, an escape room, a costume parade and masquerade ball.

The coffin races will be held from 3 to 4 p.m. on Griffing Avenue, trick-or-treating from 4 to 6 p.m. on Main Street and the goblin parade will begin at 7 p.m. on Main Street.

Community members, organizations and businesses are welcome to decorate a lamp post on Main Street. Sign-up for decorating can be found on the Downtown Riverhead website.
