Constance A. Anderson of Tampa, Florida died on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021 at her home. She was 76 years old.
She was born in Greenport on Sept. 6, 1945 to Lloyd A. and Antoinette M. (Goss) DeFriest of Baiting Hollow. She graduated from Riverhead High School in 1963. She worked as a legal secretary and her career included 20 years of service in the Tampa City Attorney’s Office. Her hobbies included spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the beach, decorating her house, handwriting and fashion.
She is survived by her children Debra (John “Jay”) Armstrong, Kimberly (George) Ford and Keith Anderson; by her grandchildren, John “Jayson” Armstrong V, Katie (Christopher) Murphy, George Ford IV and Mason Anderson; by two great-grandchildren; and by her brothers, Kenneth DeFriest of Riverhead, Alvah DeFriest of Evans, Georgia, and Glenn DeFriest of Great Falls, Virginia.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, Dec. 2 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home, 336 Marcy Ave., Riverhead. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Dec. 3 at 11 a.m. at the Baiting Hollow Congregational Church, officiated by Rev. Stanley Knavel. Interment will follow at the Baiting Hollow Cemetery.
