A second person has been charged in connection with a shooting incident on Sound Avenue In Calverton on Oct. 4.
Police said Adrian Johnson, 18, of Riverhead was arrested today on charges of Attempted Assault in the First Degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Criminal Possession of a Firearm and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.
Demario Weston Jr., 19, of Riverhead, was arrested on Oct. 22 2021, on charges of Attempted Assault in the First Degree and Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree in connection with the same incident.
Both Weston, who remains in custody in the Suffolk County Correctional Facility, and Johnson were indicted by a Suffolk County grand jury, police said in a press release.
In a press release issued about the incident on Oct. 5, police said a resident of the Sound Avenue home was in a dispute with three occupants of a black sedan and, as a result of the dispute, gunshots were firesd at the house, striking the kitchen of the residence as well as four vehicles parked there.
Johnson was arrested with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service Task Force, Riverhead Police said.
