Floyd R. Tyska of Riverhead died on Nov. 29, 2021 at Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue. He was 83 years old.

He was born on March 8, 1938 in Greenport to Vincent and Helen (Danielowich) Tyska. He served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1961. He worked as a construction worker.

He was a member of St. Isidore Church, Eastern Long Island Antique Power Association, Riverhead Polish Hall, Knights of Columbus, Washington Engine Company #2 of the Riverhead Fire Department, North Fork Volunteer Fireman’s Association and Suffolk County Volunteer Fireman’s Association. His hobby was yard work.

He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy (Golembeski). He is survived by his children, Donna of Riverhead, Allison Pettersen of Riverhead and Deborah Esposito of Shirley, by his sister Constance Stypulkowski of East Moriches, by his fiancée Jean Michno of Speonk and her daughter Lisa, and by three grandchildren.

The family will receive visitors on Friday, Dec. 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, Dec. 4 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Isidore Church. Interment will follow at St. Isidore Cemetery.
