A Shirley man is facing felony grand larceny charges in connection with the theft of merchandise at the Home Depot and Lowe’s home improvement stores on Route 58 last month, Riverhead Police said.

Salvatore Paulette, 32, was charged with three counts of Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree in connection with thefts from the stores on Jan. 17 and 18, police said in a press release this afternoon.

Paulette was already in custody at the Suffolk County Correctional Facility on prior charges that occurred in the Suffolk County Police jurisdiction, according to the press release.

He was processed and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
