Riverhead Police report the arrest of a 17-year-old female on a charge of First Degree Robbery in connection with a knifepoint robbery of a taxi driver on Dec. 8.
The suspect was held for arraignment at Suffolk County Superior Court, Youth Part, according to a press release issued late last night.
Police said the arrest followed an extensive investigation by detectives into the incident, which occurred in the parking lot outside the Dollar Tree store on Route 58.
At the time, police said a 53-year-old man was robbed while sitting in his car thee at about 6:20 p.m. The victim told police a woman got into his car and turned off the ignition while two men approached the car, opened the driver’s side door and, displaying a knife, demanded money, according to a police press release issued Dec. 9. The suspects took a quantity of money and personal belongings from the victim, police said.
