Residents of a home on Tyler Drive in Riverhead returned home yesteday afternoon to find a burglar inside their residence, Riverhead Town Police said. They called 911 and responding police officers located and detained the intruder.
Police said Frank P. Colaiacomo Jr., 33, of Riverhead was in possession of money and jewelry that belonged to the residents of the home.
Colaiacomo was arrested and charged with Burglary in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fifth Degree. He was processed and held for arraignment, police said.
The investigation remains ongoing, according to police. They ask anyone with information about the incident to contact the Riverhead Police Department at (631)727-4500.
