The Butterfly Effect Project will host a harvest festival and cookoff on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 12 to 4 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Riverhead.
The event will feature samplings of favorite dishes from local chefs, lawn games, face paintings, balloon animals, performances, music and many vendors.
The event is free to attend or $10 to sample dishes and vote on your favorites.
Local chefs are invited to compete in a cookoff featuring main ingredients from the BEP’s garden. First place wins $300, second place $200 and third place is $100. Registration for the contest cost $20 and can be completed online through the BEP website, calling (631)905-8858 or emailing brienne@bepgirls.org.
