Riverhead Town Police have charged a Flanders man with first-degree robbery after he held up another man at gunpoint in a Route 58 parking lot Friday evening, according to a police press release.

Police said Brandon Wollney, 24, entered the victim’s vehicle parked outside Target on Route 58 at about 7 p.m. Friday, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the victim. After the victim complied, Wollney left the area in his own vehicle and the victim followed him, police said. The victim called 911 as he was following the suspect’s vehicle and provided a description of the vehicle, which was subsequently located by police on Flanders Road, according to the police report.

Wollney was known to the victim, police said.

Wollney was arrested and charged with one count of Robbery in the First Degree, a class B Felony, police said. He was processed and held for arraignment in Riverhead Justice Court.
