Mary Lou Northridge of Mattituck died on Jan. 9, 2023. She was 87 years old.
She was born in on June 9, 1935 in Fairfield, Iowa to Lloyd and Bernice Bottorff.
She attended Iowa State Teacher’s College. She taught home-economics in Plainfield, Iowa, Muscatine, Iowa, Riverhead Central School District and then she retired from Mattituck School District after 19 years.
She taught Sunday school, youth groups, women’s classes and directed, taught and led music at Vacation Bible School and church plays. Her hobbies included music, playing the piano and accordion, singing, traveling, camping, tennis, water skiing, sewing, crafts and working outside.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Millard, daughter Kelly (Robert) Krudop, grandchildren Robert Krudop of Deland, Florida and Julie Krudop of Mattituck and sister Marcia Poston of Johnston, Iowa.
The family received visitors Thursday, Jan. 12 at Community Baptist Church and held a funeral service on Friday, Jan. 13 officiated by Pastor Andrew Montoro at Community Baptist Church. Interment was held at Calverton National Cemetery.
