Justice Court report: week of March 6, 2023

Excerpts from Riverhead Town Justice Court docket for the week of March 6, 2023:

There was a total of 360 criminal and traffic cases on the court’s docket, Justice Sean Walter presiding.

Convictions reported here are a result of charges of misdemeanors or felonies. Felony charges are often removed to Suffolk County Criminal Court and are reported here when marked off the justice court calendar if a conviction has been entered in the superior court.

Carrasco, Joseph, 27, of Flanders, charged with Driving While Intoxicated on July 8, pleaded guilty on March 7 and was sentenced to a fine of $760.

Chamble-Puluc, Jose C., 24, of Mattituck, charged on Sept. 4 with Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, pleaded guilty on March 7 to Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to a fine of $760.

Chicory Sicajau, Luis G., 23, of Riverhead, charged on Sept. 4 with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, pleaded guilty on March 7 to Facilitating Unlicensed Operation and Unlicensed Operator and was sentenced to a fine of $700.

Cowell, Alfred A., 43, of Middle Island, charged on Sept. 20 and Nov. 17 with Petit Larceny, pleaded guilty to both charges on March 7 and was sentenced to 6 months concurrent with parole and fined $500 on each conviction.

Drozd, Melanie L., 42, of Riverhead, charged on Aug. 21 with Driving While Intoxicated, pleaded guilty on March 8 and was sentenced to a fine of $760.

Grant, Shawn D., 31, of Riverhead, charged on March 5, 2022 with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, pleaded guilty on March 7 to Facilitating Unlicensed Operation and was sentenced to 2 years probation and a fine of $510.

Kebadze, Akaki, 44, of Riverhead, charged on Dec. 16 with Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, pleaded guilty on March 6 to Driving While Intoxicated, and was sentenced to a fine of $760.

Jurado-Velasquez, Milton D., 26, of Elmont, N.Y., charged on Sept. 4 with Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, pleaded guilty and was sentenced on March 6 to 30 days in jail.

Lauzadis, Ramunas, 58, of Riverhead, charged on Aug. 18 with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law violations, pleaded guilty on March 7 to Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and was seated to 3 years probation and a fine of $2,400.

Nowack, James, 43, of Riverhead, charged on Jan. 21 with Petit Larceny, pleaded guilty to Disorderly Conduct on March 7 and was sentenced to 15 days in jail and fined $205.

Velasquez Xaspot, Jose F., 31, of Riverhead, charged on Oct. 23 with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law offenses, pleaded guilty on March 7 to Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and was sentenced to 3 years probation and fined $1,500.

Veliz-Gutierrez, Hector R., 34, of Riverhead, charged on July 16 with Driving While Intoxicated and other Vehicle and Traffic Law offenses, pleaded guilty on March 7 to Driving While Intoxicated and was fined $760.
