A Flanders man who became “violent and confrontational” with officers responding to a domestic incident call in Riverhead was arrested Saturday on felony criminal mischief and other charges, according to a police press release.
Police said patrol officers responded to a complaint of a domestic incident in progress where a man was breaking windows at the complainant’s residence on Redbird Place in Riverhead on Saturday.
Upon police arrival, the suspect became violent and confrontational with officers at the scene, police said.
Police arrested Edin Vargas Muralles, 23, of Flanders, on charges of Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree, a class E felony, Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration and Harassment in the Second Degree, according to the report.
Muralles was held for arraignment, police said.
