Frances L. Allen of Riverhead, formerly of Greenport, died on Sept. 17, 2023. She was 99 years old.
Born on April 14, 1924, in East Quogue to Peter Kruk and Martha Koczenska, she spent her early years in Greenport. Allen was a homemaker and a dedicated employee at the Pell Fish Market and Wickham’s Farms.
She was married to the late William Allen, who predeceased her in 1990. Her family said she enjoyed hobbies such as crocheting, cooking, and watching “General Hospital.” She was also a past vice president at the North Fork Animal Welfare League.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Anderson (James), of Riverhead, her son, Robert Allen and by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, Sept. 21, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at McLaughlin Heppner Funeral Home in Riverhead, followed by a funeral service there at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery in Greenport.
Memorial donations may be made to the North Fork Animal Welfare League.
