Riverhead Police are investigating the burglary of a town work truck and other items that were stolen late last night from a garage at the Riverhead Water District facility on Pulaski Street.
A white 2002 Chevrolet work truck was stolen, along with various copper pipes and tools, from within the locked garage at 1035 Pulaski Street around 3:30 a.m., according to police. The fence at the facility was damaged when the perpetrator fled with the truck, police said.
The truck was tracked to the Coram area through its GPS tracking system, police said, and was found unoccupied.
The incident is still being investigated. Any witnesses of the burglary are urged to contact the Riverhead Police Department at 631-727-4500 or the department’s crime hotline at 631-727-3333. All calls will be kept confidential, police said.
