A Mastic Beach responsible for multiple thefts from Riverhead businesses this month was arrested a grand larceny charge Thursday, according to Riverhead Town Police.
Raymond Soutar, 56, was arrested on a grand larceny charge yesterday in connection with a Nov. 14 theft from Polo Ralph Lauren at Tanger Outlets, police said in a press release. That theft occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, police said.
Riverhead Police said Soutar had stolen two electric scooters from Walmart on Nov. 6 and various home heating items from Lowe’s on Nov. 11. Police said they arrested Soutar in connection with both of those petit larcenies on the morning of Nov. 14. He was released on a desk appearance ticket, police said.
That afternoon, after being released, Soutar stole numerous Ring camera products from Best Buy, Riverhead Police said. Soutar was again processed and released on a desk appearance ticket with a future court date, police said.
By 6:15 p.m. Soutar was shoplifting at the Polo Ralph Lauren outlet, according to the police report.
He was arrested and held for arraignment today in Riverhead Justice Court.
