Riverhead Police have arrested a man who allegedly stole approximately $8,000 while employed as a gas station attendant for BJ’s Wholesale Club.

Wilmer O. Genis Perez, 19, of Mastic was arrested and charged with third-degree grand larceny this morning for the crime, which he allegedly committed between May and June 2023, according to a Riverhead Police press release.

Genis Perez was processed and arraigned at Riverhead Justice Court. Anyone with further information is asked to contact Riverhead Town Police at 631-727-4500, police said.

Editor’s note: A criminal charge is an accusation. A person charged with a crime is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
