Riverhead's Halloween Festival drew hundreds of people downtown Saturday for spooky family fun, starting with the crowd-pleasing coffin races, continuing with trick-or-treating along Main Street and culminating in an after-dark costume parade and performances.

The Riverhead Waves 9u travel baseball team won the Town of Brookhaven fall season championship in a playoff double-header under the lights last Friday night. Eleven of the team's 13 members were on the Riverhead Little League District 36 championship team this year.
