NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to a resolution of the Board of Fire Comiss1oners, a special election of the qualified voters of the Flanders Fire District in the Town of Southampton, County of Suffolk, State of New York, will be held at the firehouse located at 19 Firehouse Lane, Flanders, New York 11901 on the 29nd day of October, 2019, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 pm. to vote on whether to approve the following resolution adopted by such Board of Fire Commissioners:
RESOLUTION FOR PURCHASE AND FINANCING OF PIERCE ENFORCER PUMPER:
RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE FLANDERS FIRE DISTRICT, TOWN OF SOUTHAMPTON, SUFFOLK COUNTY, NEW YORK (THE “DISTRICT”), AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF A PIERCE ENFORCER PUMPER IN THE ANTICIPATED MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $625,000 AND APPROPRIATING SAID AMOUNT THEREFORE; AND AUTHORIZING THE FINANCING BY A COMBINATION, IN FULL OR IN PART, OF ANY OF THE FOLLOWING: ISSUANCE OF A SERIAL BOND OR STATUTORY INSTALLMENT BOND UP TO TWENTY (20) YEARS, OR THE USE OF AN INSTALLMENT PURCHASE CONTRACT FOR UP TO TWENTY (20) YEARS, FOR THE MAXIMUM AMOUNT OF $625,000 PRINCIP AL, AND TO ISSUE BOND ANTICIP A TION NOTES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ABOVE, FOR UP TO FIVE CONSECUTIVE
YEARS.
That pursuant to Local Finance Law Section 80, the validity of such bonds or notes or any bond anticipation notes issued in anticipation of the sale of such bonds may be contested only if such obligations are authorized for an object or purpose for which the fire district is not authorized to expend money; or if the provisions of law which should be complied with as of this date are not substantially complied with, and an action, suit or proceeding contesting such validity, is commenced within twenty (20) days aftc;:r the date of such publication; or such obligations are authorized in violation ofthe provisions ofthe constitution.
All persons registered to vote in the district and residing in the district for at least thirty (30) days prior to the day ofthe vote may vote in such special election.
