Four East End Rotary clubs are distributing thousands of plants to front-line workers at the three East End hospitals this weekend — spreading cheer and smiles among hospital staff finally feeling some relief after a long, rough couple of months.

“We raise money for a lot of different things,” said Riverhead Rotary Club member Thaddeus Hill. “We had some emergency funds set aside for some kind of an emergency and we thought this was a good time to use them.”

Riverhead Rotary provided $39,500 to Riverhead High School seniors. Several of the seniors were present at a recent rotary meeting.
