The Lions Club Santa parade and the holiday bonfire on the riverfront will be held on the same day for the first time this year. But Santacon won't be returning to downtown Riverhead in 2017.

Santas, elves, reindeer — even a gorilla dressed in a Santa suit were among the costumed revelers in the holiday spirit who descended on downtown Riverhead this evening for the third annual Riverhead SantaCon.

The yearly event is put on by the Suffolk Theater and features food and beverage specials, dancing and entertainment.

Riverhead's second SantaCon pub crawl drew a festive holiday crowd to downtown Riverhead Saturday, where hundreds of visitors dressed in Santa suits and other holiday-themed costumes enjoyed specials at a dozen local venues.

Hundreds of jolly revelers clad in Santa suits and other holiday costumes descended on downtown Riverhead for its first Santacon pub crawl last night. The fundraiser for The Brendan House was organized by the Suffolk Theater.

Downtown Riverhead's bars and restaurants will raise money for The Brendan House Project with a 'SantaCon' pub crawl Dec. 6.
