School threats

The Riverhead Central School District notified families last night of what it called “a non-specific threat” made by a student on the Riverhead Middle School for Friday. The student was identified and spoken to, and 'appropriate disciplinary action' will be taken, the district said.

The student will not be allowed back in school and police are investigating the incident, the chief said. He said the threat was not specific, but police will have extra patrols and increased presence at the school.
