Vector control to spray Anvil after mosquito samples test positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus

The county’s vector control division plans to spray larvicides on parts of more than 40 marshes this week.

The county’s vector control division plans to treat parts of the numerous marshes across the county Thursday and Friday to control mosquito larvae, the Department of Health announced Wednesday afternoon. Locations include marshes in Riverhead, Southold and Flanders.
