Lt. Justin Berry of the Riverhead Fire Department didn't hesitate to put himself in danger to save a resident trapped inside the burning home on Doris Avenue Friday, but in an interview today, he downplayed his own actions and credited the efforts of the entire team at the scene.

A Riverhead firefighter climbed through a rear window to rescue a man from a burning home on Doris Avenue Friday evening. He led the man to the window and police officers pulled the man through the window to safety. Police officers assisted another man from the home through the front door.
