NFAC: Baltimorons Screening with Michael Strassner & Liz Larsen at North Fork Arts Center

The event begins at 7 p.m. and concludes around 9:30 p.m. Fresh from its debut at SXSW, this heartfelt and funny film, directed by Jay Duplass and produced by IFC Films, is already being hailed as the feel-good movie of 2025. The plot unfolds on Christmas Eve in Baltimore, where a newly sober former improv comic, played by Michael Strassner, ends up in an unexpected adventure with his older dentist, played by Liz Larsen. Their journey through the city, from quiet stoops to bustling parties, reveals humor, vulnerability, and the spark of an unlikely romance. After the screening, attendees will have the opportunity to engage in a conversation with stars Michael Strassner and Liz Larsen. Please note that the event is not free, and tickets are priced at $25.

ZBTB Zac Brown Tribute Band Returns to the Suffolk

<strong>The Suffolk</strong>, Riverhead

The ZBTB Zac Brown Tribute Band is set to return to the Suffolk on Saturday, Sept. 20 at 8 p.m. Known as the premier tribute to the chart-topping Zac Brown Band, ZBTB has become a fan favorite on Long Island. The band not only captures the sound and creativity of the Zac Brown Band, but also brings a similar atmosphere of family to their shows while engaging the audience in their own unique way. From the Zac Brown Band’s 2008 breakout hit ‘Chicken Fried’ to the recent sing-along anthem ‘Same Boat’, ZBTB plays all the hits any country fan knows and loves. The band is also known for their renditions of a diverse set of covers, with classics like ‘Enter Sandman’ and ‘Ants Marching’, as well as, modern hits like ‘There’s Nothing Holding Me Back’ and ‘Little Lion Man’ in their set. The members of ZBTB come from a wide range of backgrounds, some with advanced degrees in music and some who have toured internationally. They all share the brotherhood that only being in a band can bring, and the passion to thrill the audience wherever they go. Michael Harrison’s Ventastic at The Suffolk

The Suffolk presents Michael Harrison’s Ventastic, a one-man, laugh-out-loud romp into the past with a new up-to-date twist on the long-lost art form of ventriloquism. Michael Harrison, an award-winning ventriloquist and puppeteer based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, turns ventriloquism upside-down with his original puppets and creative routines that have amazed audiences of all ages for over 30 years. He channels the talents of his legendary great grandfather, Frank Merryfield, a vaudeville ventriloquist, into his performance. Michael has worked with Kelly Clarkson, The Muppets and Boyz to Men. He has headlined on the world’s most luxurious cruise lines, performed at corporate events, comedy clubs, festivals, and luxury resorts. He received glowing reviews from the celebrity judges when he appeared on America’s Got Talent. NFAC: Reinas x OLA Film Screening and Discussion

7th Annual Fall Fishing Showdown & Lobster Bash at Port of Egypt Marine

The 7th Annual Fall Fishing Showdown & Lobster Bash is a weekend of friendly competition, fabulous food and fun, all to benefit the Stony Brook Eastern Long Island Hospital Foundation. The event, organized by Port of Egypt Marine, is a two-day affair, starting on Friday, Sept. 26 and ending on Saturday, Sept. 27. Here’s what you can expect:
– Captain’s Huddle: This pre-tournament meeting will take place at 5 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26 at Port of Egypt Marine.
– Tournament: The main event will start at 6 p.m. on Friday and end at 5 p.m. on Saturday. Participants will compete for cash prizes awarded to the top three striped bass, bluefish, sea bass and porgies.
– Lobster Bash: Open to all, this seafood feast begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 27 at Port of Egypt Marine. The menu includes lobster and seafood dinners by Southold Fish Market and drinks from the Greenport Harbor Beer Truck.
