Daylight Saving Time took effect at 2 a.m. today. We can all feel better about “losing” an hour’s sleep by knowing we will enjoy more daylight at the end of the day, right?
Here’s an important public safety message from the American Red Cross on Long Island: Test your smoke alarms today and replace the batteries if needed.
“Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in a home fire in half as you only have about two minutes to get out. Every second counts when there’s a home fire and the sooner an alarm alerts you to a fire, the sooner you can get to a safer place.” – Jose Dominguez, CEO of the American Red Cross on Long Island. “
