Riverhead Blue Masques members Amanda Gallo (left) and Justin Harris won Teeny Awards for their roles in the spring production of “Once Upon a Mattress” at Riverhead High School.
Gallo, a member of the ensemble cast in the musical won the “Outstanding Performance” award, a category created to recognize a student who “shines brightly” in a role that is not eligible for adjudication in the leading or supporting categories.
Harris was the choreographer for “Once Upon A Mattress” and tied for an award in that category with the student who choreographed the Westhampton Beach High School production of “Guys & Dolls,” Gina Arfi.
The Blue Masques stage manager for “Stage Door,” Jennifer Bliss, also won a Teeny for her efforts.
McGann-Mercy’s Laura Lynne Duffy of Cutchogue won a Teeny for Lead Actress in a Comedy for her role in “Noises Off,”
McGann-Mercy stage managers Kat Dickhoff of Aquebogue (“Noises Off”) and Stephanie Stripoli (“Bye, Bye Birdie”) also won Teeny Awards.
The East End Arts Council presented the Ninth Annual Teeny Awards, a theater arts recognition program for local high school theater students, on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at the Westhampton Beach High School.
