A crash at the intersection of Route 25 and Edwards Avenue sent one woman to Peconic Bay Medical Center Friday afternoon. 

A white Mercury sedan was headed eastbound on Route 25 and attempting to make left-hand turn onto northbound Edwards Avenue when it was struck by a Peconic Propane truck that was headed westbound on Route 25, according to police. The Mercury failed to yield, police said.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mercury was transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center by the Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The driver and sole occupant of the Peconic Propane truck was uninjured, police said.

The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m.
