A four-car accident at the intersection of East Main Street, Doctor’s Path and Route 58 sent one person to Peconic Bay Medical Center this afternoon.
A woman was driving her Mazda eastbound on Route 58 when a westbound Ford Explorer attempted to make a left turn in front of her vehicle and collided with her, resulting in the Explorer rolling over into the right eastbound lane, according to police. Two other vehicles, a Jeep and a Prius, were also damaged in the collision.
The female driver of the Mazda was taken to Peconic Bay Medical Center by Riverhead Ambulance Corps with injuries believed to be non-life-threatening, according to emergency responders at the scene. The drivers of the other vehicles were uninjured in the crash, police said.
Police said they issued a ticket to driver of the Explorer for unlicensed operation of a vehicle.
