2014 0101 sobriety checkpoint

Seven people were arrested at holiday weekend sobriety checkpoints last night in Riverhead conducted by the Suffolk County District Attorney’s East End DWI Task Force, Riverhead Town Police said in a press release issued this morning.

Police report the following arrests:

Jose Lopez Solano, 29, of Cutchogue, charged with felony driving while intoxicated (vehicle seized);

Gregory W. Zilnicki, 24, Calverton, charged with driving while intoxicated and unlawful possession of marijuana;

Alicia M Booker, 27, of Rivehead, Lauren M. Gerstle, 30, of Brooklyn, Edward Kropas, 58, of Hampton Bays, and Alejandro Valle-Martinez, 31, of Riverhead, charged with driving while intoxicated; and

Malcolm Kelly, 25, of Shirley, charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol.

Members of Shelter Island, Southold Town, Suffolk County, New York State and Riverhead Town police departments conducted the enforcement in the Town of Riverhead.

Details will continue throughout the holiday weekend and the 2016 summer season,
police said.
