It was a tough loss the Blue Waves on senior night yesterday, falling 56-50 to Connetquot, coming off a victory over Northport last time out.
Riverhead was shorthanded, with three players out due to injuries, forcing Coach John Rossetti to turn to his reserves to try and win the game. Riverhead’s bench players played well, doing some solid rebounding in the paint by Richard Lucas, and Quashiem Miller. Riverhead still fell short on a lot of their shots, and suffered lapses in mid-court defense throughout. The Blue Waves could not contain Connetquot, and in the end, Connetquot cashed in for a 56-50 victory in Riverhead’s last home game of the season. The Waves travel to Lindenhurst for their final game Friday at 6:15 p.m.
