The annual Riverhead Run to Remember is looking for registrants and sponsors for its annual 5K race, which will take place on May 21, beginning and ending at the Riverhead Middle School. All proceeds from the race benefit the Riverhead High School scholarship fund.

This 5K run/walk is held in memory and honor of loved ones who are no longer with us and memorial boards will be displayed at the RHS gymnasium. The original idea for the race came from Patrick Burke an assistant principal at the high school (prior story here).

The run begins Sunday, May 21 at 9:30 am. with registration on the day of the race starting at 7:15 a.m.

A kids’ 5K fun run will kick off at 9 a.m. It’s free for children under the age of 10. The entrance fee for Riverhead students older than 10 years old is $10.

Click here to register as a runner or a sponsor. Registration for adults is $20 for early online registration and $25 for late online or day of race registration. Day of race registration opens at 7:15 and goes until 8:50. Race shirts will be given to the first 150 runners who register on online.

The race will start on time, has clocks at each mile marker, water on the course, and bagels and snacks at the finish.

Awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each age category. (9 and under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and older)

An award ceremony and free raffle drawing for all participants will be held at the RHS Gym upon the completion of the 5K.
