South Jamesport Avenue will be closed for paving today, Riverhead Highway Superintendent George Woodson said this morning.
The road will be closed from 8 a.m. until about 3 p.m. from Main Road to Front Street, Woodson said.
The paving work is the last part of a road improvement project that included extensive drainage and curbing work on the north-south thoroughfare over the past month.
Motorists bound for South Jamesport or the town beach should use Washington Avenue or Laurel Lane.
