Main Street between Griffing and Ostrander avenues will be closed to traffic from 2 to 11 p.m. today for the Alive on 25 street festival. A portion of Peconic Avenue and Roanoke Avenue between Second and Main streets will also be closed.
Motorists are encouraged to use Second Street as an alternate east-west route, Riverhead Town Police said.
North- and southbound traffic should use alternate routes as well. Alternate routes are: Center Drive to Osborne Avenue; Ostrander Avenue; and County Road 105.
For festival-goers: Free shuttle service will be provided from the municipal parking lot on Court Street. The pickup location will be on the south side of the lot. The shuttle will drop visitors off on Griffing Avenue and Main Street.
Handicap parking Locations: Heidi Behr Way behind the old Swezey’s and Joe’s Garage; First Street parking lot near walkway next to First Congregational Church.
