Candidates for Riverhead town council sat down with RiverheadLOCAL last night for a freewheeling discussion of local issues.
The discussion was streamed live on Facebook, where it was viewed by more than 2,600 people in real time.
Incumbent Jodi Giglio and newcomer Frank Beyrodt, Republicans, and Democrats Michele Lynch and Catherine Kent answered questions posed by RiverheadLOCAL editor and publisher Denise Civiletti on a range of topics in the local news. Among the issues they discussed: racism in Riverhead, traffic congestion, downtown parking, affordable housing, and the proposed sale of land at EPCAL to Luminati Aerospace.
RiverheadLOCAL solicited and collected questions from readers in advance of the Facebook Live event and also asked some of the questions posed by the audience in real time during the event.
RiverheadLOCAL will host a sit-down Facebook Live discussion with supervisor candidates tonight at 7 with incumbent Sean Walter, Republican and challenger Laura Jens-Smith, Democrat. Submit questions for the candidates in advance of the event by email.
Every effort will be made to field questions from the audience during the live event tonight.
