According to Richard Wines, president of the Jamesport Meeting House Preservation Fund, last year’s concert by Polish-American pianist Magdalena Baczewska was completely sold out and attendees raved about her performance.
Internationally-recognized Baczewska returns to the Jamesport Meeting House at 7:30, Saturday evening, April 28, for a solo performance of music by Polish and French composers, including Debussy, Ravel, Paderewski and Chopin.
Baczewska, born in Katowice, Poland, has played all over the world including the Salle Cortot in Paris, the National Center for Performing Arts in Beijing, China’s Guangzhou Opera House, Carnegie Hall in New York City and San Francisco’s Davies Symphony Hall.
“We are indeed privileged to welcome back an artist of enormous talent and an enthusiastic following,” said Richard Wines, president of the Jamesport Meeting House Preservations Trust. “Reactions from our sold-out audience at her first visit in March of 2016 were nothing short of superlative. This is a concert not to be missed, all the more so for the rich acoustics in our main performance room.”
Baczewska teaches at Columbia University and is also a long-time member of the board of directors of the Jamesport Meeting House Preservation Trust. She resides in South Jamesport and Manhattan.
