It may have been a record turnout for Alive on 25 Thursday night — even before crowds turned out for the fireworks display that capped off the event.
The 2018 debut for the popular street festival’s third season drew large crowds to Main Street for live music, dancing, street vendors and art al fresco.
“I think this is the biggest turnout yet,” said Riverhead Business Improvement District Management Association president Steven Shauger.
As the time for the fireworks show drew near even more people packed into the downtown area to find a spot for viewing the pyrotechnic displays.
There were no official crowd estimates immediately available.
The remaining Alive on 25 dates this season are July 12, July 26 and Aug. 9. For more information, including the music and entertainment lineup, see the festival website.
