Both occupants of the overturned Chevy Traverse and the driver of the Cadillac were taken to the hospital for the treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.

Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle rollover accident at the intersection of Horton and Reeves avenues late Tuesday afternoon.

A Cadillac Escalade and a Chevy Traverse collided at the intersection at about 5 p.m. The Chevy overturned and came to a rest on the driver’s side.

Police had to break the windshield of the Chevy to allow its occupants to escape.

Two people in the Chevy and the driver and sole occupant of the Cadillac were transported by Riverhead Volunteer Ambulance Corps to Peconic Bay Medical Center for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

The crash took place within an hour of a more serious accident on Middle Country Road in Calverton at the entrance to Splish Splash.
