The Jamesport Meeting House will open its fall musical season with a performance by the husband and wife duo of Jorg-Michael Schwarz and Karen Marie Marmer on Sept. 22 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. They will play music by Leclair, Telemann, Boccherini, Shield and Mozart.

Schwarz and Marmer perform under the name Black Marble— the English translations of their last names. (Schwarz is German for black and Marmer is Dutch for marble.) They have played throughout the United States and abroad and have been critically acclaimed for their virtuosity.

The concert by Black Marble is the first of three events the meeting house will host as part of its 1731 Concert Series — a celebration of the year the meeting house was built. The other concerts will feature New York-based ensembles playing music written around, but not limited to, 1731.

Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students. They can be purchased online, by phone at 631-727-5170 or at the door.

A “meet the artists” reception will follow the concert.
