A 36-year-old Riverside man was killed when struck by a drunk driver on County Road 105 late last night, Southampton Town Police said in a press release this afternoon.
Police said Ian S. Costanza was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which occurred on Route 105 near Flanders Road at about 11:45 p.m. Sunday.
Tyler A. Gaches of Shirley stayed at the scene and called police, according to the report. He was subsequently charged with driving while intoxicated, police said.
Gaches’ vehicle was impounded for further investigation, police said. The Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and Southampton Town Police are investigating.
