BNB Bank has announced two new partnerships to assist first-time homebuyers.
BNB is partnering with the State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), which provides financing and programs specifically designed for first-time low- and moderate-income homebuyers in New York State.
In addition to providing low interest rates SONYMA offers additional programs for qualified borrowers such as Down Payment Assistance, Energy Star, RemodelNY and Home for Veterans.
BNB is also partnering with Federal Home Loan Bank — First Home Club. The First Home Club is a matched savings program that provides eligible first-time homebuyers with financial assistance up to $7,500 to put towards the down payment and closing costs of a new home.
“The BNB first-time homebuyer program offers affordable mortgage financing through SONYMA, as well as a BNB First Home Club savings account which provides matching grant funds that can be used for down payment assistance,” said Michael Hadix, head of the consumer lending division at BNB.
“As a community bank, BNB is committed to offering products and services to the entire community it serves. We’re especially pleased to help low to moderate income first time homebuyers achieve home ownership,” Hadix said.
