USMC Sgt. Marcus Santana of Flanders came to the rescue of an elderly woman who suffered a medical emergency as she was crossing Flanders Road Tuesday.

Marcus Santana and Marisa Striano will be honored at an award ceremony hosted by Stop the Violence Organization on Thursday, July 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at River Walk Bar and Grille.

Santana is being honored for saving the life of a local resident and Striano for her work at Spirit’s Program Horse Rescue Program.

Tickets are $45 if ordered online and $55 if purchased at the door. The tickets include the ceremony, a two hour open bar and dinner.
